Textile printing

Textile printing, is a type of printing in which the design is first cut mirrored into a foil with a plotter. The opposite side of the film is coated with an adhesive that is activated with heat and pressure. The design is pressed onto the textile before or while sewing or on the finished piece. Black Dress

The black dress is created by GRAVITEX, from the design, to the pattern making and the fabrication. Inspired by a multicultural approach, it is a mix between a japanese Kimono, a north african Jebba and a classic occidental shirt. This piece can be customized with every textile and color, for different sizes.

Zozoville Monster Pillow

In cooperation with Zozoville Gallery, Gravitex developed a monster throw pillow from prototyping to mass production abroad. The cushion’s outer shell is made of a cuddly, artificial fur. As a special detail an eye ball with half closed eyelid is placed centrally. The mouth is covered with teeth and at the same time forms the slot for the contrasting inner cushion. The filling of the inner cushion is made of siliconized polyester fiber. The woven label with logo and care instruction were created by Gravitex.

Gravitex designs all prototypes in their Berlin studio, develops the technical documents for the European production and provides the subsequent quality control. For all design products, the shape, material and color can be individually determined by customers and provided with their own woven label.

Grenade Purse

Gravitex developed a series of archaic weapon cushions under the name “Aufstand” for the Private Label Collection. Through a zipper you reach the inside of the grenade, which also serves as a purse. Made of PU-coated fabric in braided look, notice the practical detail is the key ring so that you never lose your grenade.

Pineapple Pillow

Gravitex designed an elegant pineapple decoration pillow for the Private Label Collection. The fruit body is made of a rhomb-shaped quilted black satin and filled with siliconized polyester fiber . The foliage folds around a soft central core. The leaves are made of satin and stiffened.

Ravioli Pillow

Gravitex produces for the Private Label Collection an amusing and practical pillow set in ravioli design. The set consists of a pillow filled with siliconized polyester fibers and a half ravioli as a sleeve for a rolled-up blanket, which at the same time represents the filling. From the ravioli cushions the inner cushion can be removed via a zipper on the back. In order to approximate the feel of a real ravioli, a brushed microfiber was chosen for the outer shells. For care instructions, after washing flatten the decorative zig zag border with ironing.

Hand puppet serie

The Five Piece hand puppet series was made according to drawings from the customer who desired “A puppet show for adults”. For the heads foam was cut into shape, covered with Lycra fabric and provided with textile decoration. The clothing or the body was developed via fabric applications. Despite the oversized head, Gravitex developed a technique to operate the hand puppet.

Latex moldings

Gravitex produced 2 boob beanbags as showpieces for Annika Line Trost’s book reading. The creation of the boob beanbag took place in two variations. The first variant was made of light artificial leather with the breast tip made of a satin appliqué. Gravitex designed a second more abstract beanbag variant made of salmon-colored artificial lacquer leather and the breast tip made of dark blue latex.

The manufacturing process of the latex patch is very intense. The nipple is first hand-formed in its original size to make the negative mold. The resulting negative mold is spread with latex in the desired thickness. Then the latex nipple is sewn into the shell of the bean bag.

The beanbags are filled with styrofoam balls.

YouTube Pillow

The YouTube pillow is a corporate gift for the YouTube Festival 2017 on behalf of the company “Insglück Gesellschaft für Markeninszenierung MBH”. The pillow was made in a gold and red microfiber fabric, filled with foam and provided with a YouTube transfer logo. For the 8-part series, Gravitex realized the paper pattern and the small series production, as well as the logo labels for sewing.

Banane Pillow

Gravitex produced a series of banana cushions for the Private Label Collection. The outer shell of the banana is made of tightly knit yellow cotton interlock and hand painted with textile colors.The surface texture of the peeled banana was imitated with cream cotton broad cord. The banana cushion is customizable and scalable in sizes, available in a peeled or unpeeled version.
